PresentationsAs well as being an internationally respected author, Evelyn Robinson is also an experienced and accomplished trainer and public speaker. Evelyn has a unique style and her presentations are not only educational but also entertaining. In fact, they have been described as ‘enthralling’. Evelyn speaks from both a personal and a professional perspective about adoption separation and its long term outcomes. Evelyn enjoys audience participation and is always willing to answer questions and discuss her views. EVENTS 2009 In November, 2009, Evelyn presented at an adoption forum in Canberra, Australia, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the founding of the support group Adoption Mosaic. While in Canberra, Evelyn was also present in the Great Hall at New Parliament House for the government's apology to the Forgotten Australians and the Child Migrants. 2007 In June, 2007, Evelyn was interviewed by Michelle Edmunds in Canada on The Adoption Show: http://www.theadoptionshow.com/home.htm. You can listen to the interview by going to The Adoption Show web site and clicking on 'past shows'. 2006 In October, 2006, Evelyn presented a seminar with her son, Stephen, in Adelaide for the newly-formed Post Adoption Support Service. 2005 In November, 2005, Evelyn was cross-examined by telephone in relation to a court case in Canada in which she had been called as an expert witness on the long term outcomes of adoption. In September and October, 2005, Evelyn travelled for 5 weeks and spoke in Ireland (Dublin and Cork), Scotland (Edinburgh and Renfrew), Canada (Toronto) and in the USA at the CUB (Concerned United Birthparents) retreat (Pacific Grove, California). Her visit to Scotland included being guest speaker at morning assembly at Paisley Grammar School, where Evelyn was a pupil from 1961 - 1967. Evelyn received a warm welcome from the Rector and pupils and donated copies of her books to the school library. In July, 2005, Evelyn presented two seminars in Melbourne, Australia with her son, Stephen, for VANISH. Evelyn also addressed a support group of members of ARMS Victoria. In June, 2005, Evelyn was interviewed by the BBC for a programme called Woman's Hour. When the programme was broadcast, they described her as renowned internationally as a leading authority on the subject (of the long term outcomes of adoption). In April, 2005, Evelyn presented two seminars in Sydney, Australia for PARC (Post Adoption Resource Centre).
2004 In October, 2004, Evelyn travelled to New Zealand and spoke on 10 occasions in Christchurch, Dunedin, Wellington, Auckland and Rotorua. Separate presentations were arranged in each location for members of the public and for interested professionals. On her way to New Zealand, Evelyn also addressed a group in Queensland. In September, 2004, Evelyn was guest speaker at the VANISH AGM in Melbourne, Australia. 2003 In October, 2003, Evelyn spoke at the CUB (Concerned United Birthparents) retreat in Virginia, USA. 2001
Beginning in April 2001, Evelyn travelled for three months, to New Zealand, the USA, Canada, England, Scotland, the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland and presented on 21 occasions for various organisations. Some of these presentations were directed towards a professional audience and others were designed for members of the public. A copy of her presentation can be accessed via the 'articles' page. In March, 2001, Evelyn presented two seminars in Western Australia for ARCS and a seminar for the University of Western Australia. Evelyn was also guest speaker at the AGM of ARMS WA.
